I'm Home, Hooray! Lyrics

Georgia's coming back to claim my brother's half
But my full blood stepped back
I work with mercy I'll put you down in the ground
But this mercy's made up
Take all of the talk like it's the blessed truth
But no one tells you
Just keep up the peace is what I say to me
It's a work I must do

I'm headed to the coast
So I can check out all the beaches
P.s. mom, I love you all the way to jesus
I cut the ground and cracked the earth
A hole in December is worth the work
And all that it appears to be
This pet cemetary
Is where I work

I'm home, hooray

I'm coming home with great intentions
Dont call me a quitter i've got great ideas
Just wait til i set one into motion
Send on straight to prison

Im headed to the coast
So I can check out all the beaches
P.s. mom, I love you all the way to jesus
I cut the ground and cracked the earth
A hole in December is worth the work
And all that it appears to be
This pet cemetary
Is where I work

I'm home, hooray

Eyelids that weigh heavy are a blessing
And a mattress on the floor
To hold me steady up, up and away

I'm home, hooray

Cover art for I'm Home, Hooray! lyrics by Junior Varsity, The

Being Asa's brother, this song is one of my personal favorites. It deals with a intense winter our family went through.

"Georgia's coming back to claim my brother's half But my full blood stepped back" This is in reference to my biological father returning to Illinois from Georgia to 'find' me while Asa's biological father stepped out of the picture.

"I cut the ground and cracked the earth A hole in December is worth the work And all that it appears to be This pet cemetary Is where I work"

Our family dog died after 18 years. This part of the song is in reference to Asa having to dig her grave and bury her in the backyard with all our other pets that have passed, hence, pet cemetary. Seriously. haha.

It also talks about Asa returning home from tour (checking out the beaches) and being extremely happy to be home.
