Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
im sorry... pinch me, im either dreaming or im in a third dimention where no-one appreciates the finer points of musical genius!
the album, is simply superb. this song, granted, is a highlight, but by no means is the climax of the record. gems such as cherry and everest make the album what it is, every song seems to blend into the next making for an outstandingly easy to listen to piece of music.
their new album is due out in the new year, and if youve any sense you'll buy it.
This is the only Ratatat song I have but I absolutely LOVE it. It's just one of those songs that makes you want to rock out, even if just inside your head. Does anybody know who the guy talking is? I think this song is a disproval towards those who say songwriting gets easier as you keep doing it. This may be true to some extent but really, good songs don't just come falling from the sky, do they? No matter how professional you are, a good musician will always struggle and ponder if they want to write music that really means something.
Excellent song, and like Shining Eyes said, awesome without lyrics. This whole album for Ratatat is excellent, and I've heard that they're quite good live!
Thank you germanytogermany I'm glad somebody said it. The album is amazing and if some of you take time to listen to it from start to finish you may just appriciate it.
since when does a underground instrumental duo get big? I mean they must be pretty good for a reason....the change gaps with the beats are just a little breath.....the guitar aaaaaaaaaaaa the sound is amazing millions of things goes through my head when i listen to this......aaaaaaa thier new cd is the best!!!! go out and get it..........it's called classics....loudpipes and wildcat goodness such good songs are hard to find these days
Ratatat is an amazing group, I don't know what those other people were talking about. Some other good songs to download by them are Crips, Wildcat, and El Pico. My personal favorites.

Young Churf is who says that first bit. Sadly, this is the only rockin' song Ratatat has made so far.

This song rocks, I usually don't like songs with no lyrics but I love this. I'm surprised by how great it is.
