Basically its just about a guy who breaks up with a girl in the summertime. Loosing my mind -> being upset about the unexpected break up.
A lot of people confuse this band with Coldplay because the singer of Blue MERle supposedly sounds like Chris Martin. And he somewhat does. This is the only song I've heard by the band, and I enjoy it. There is some nice violin work in the song, and the singer does a pretty good job of displaying the emotions he's trying to depict.

Anyway, my interpretation of this song is that the guy was in love with this girl and he said he'd do anything for her - or so he thought. When the time came, well - "It wasn't part of the plan." Well, he wasn't ready for whatever it is - the next step? Commitment? And so ends the relationship.
