It's eerie when he says "come alive again." This song was released after he died and knowing he's dead and have him say "come alive again" is very heavy with irony. I love the lyrics sung by Bono about "tore a hole in space...........like a dark star...." It's captures how sudden, violent and tragic suicide is.
This is a beautiful song. I guess everyone wants a fresh start at some time or another. A touching side-note, Bono, who was a good friend to Hutchence, apparently wrote lyrics for this unfinished song after Hutchence's suicide. Making Bono's verse both beautiful and painful. Rest in peace, Michael, I hope maybe you found what you were looking for. ?

The lyrics that Bono wrote ache of sadness. About wishing you could have been there and done something at the time. The chorus- "I just want t slide away"- is proably exactly as it says- wanting to slide away, to let it go, forget everything and go see the ones you love. It's about trying to find yourself and yur life again.
