To quote the band.. "The song, Smile In Your Sleep is a dark song about jealousy, deception and ultimately murder."

To me, the narrator of this song becomes so heartbroken by his lover that he eventually kills him / her, thus the metaphor of 'smiling in their sleep'.

she promises him that she would never cheat on him but yet he knows that she is. She sweetened him with words to make him stay, saying they were the same and were meant to but, but she was wrong, he dreams of killing her in his sleep with a knife, her blood red and warm, she is in her death bed and finally got what she deserved for lying and cheating

He actually said the following about this song - "First time we went to the UK, I was super jet lagged and I crashed out in my bunk. Slept for like 14 hours and had the most fucked up dreams. Woke up and I had no idea where I was and I literally thought I had murdered someone. Wrote the song about that."

I totally agree L-Kyne. They definitely have built up their music with quite a bit more emotion, and melody seems to be playing a new part in their upcoming album.

This song is just really fucking great. Silverstein's new album is awesome and there music has definitely matured since the last album.
