Rise From The Ashes (EP version)

awesome song, its got that whole 'rise of the phoenix' thing going on...

I'm thinking maybe "rise from the ashes" means maybe like rising up and taking over a situation...? Like he says "I'm sitting here making my own rules"... and maybe there was somebody he was depending on, but they let him down. "And if I fall from the ceiling You'll be down there waiting To finish me" Just thought i'd throw those ideas out... I like how they've got "Fall from the ceiling" in there, because it's the name of their EP. Great song, great band!

I think youre right strbrstcyl. This song is awesome it makes me think of mythological creatures. This song is fucking sick!

I think the song is about love and a fight and how it hurts some times he says

"I felt this way before I fell right through the floor And I am certain I've become Broken, bruised, and numb"

And it seems like he's being accused of something but he has also has wrongfully accused her of things.

"Would you restate your opinion And hold back your investigation Do you see the sins you're making Cause I've made them all before"

I think it hurts him greatly and he tries to tell her but she ignores him.

"And by my own admission You'll find that my condition Is worse than you imagined You're better off if you know But every time before that I Tried to measure pain inside You can't ignore it Right now I can't ignore it"

It seems he feels so bad about everything, he never wants to be doubted and he doesnt want to ever doubt her.

The chorus i think is about him rising up "from the ashes" "to the ceiling" and putting all the pain and hurt behind him and he knows if he goes back "Fall from the ceiling" she gonna be there and the pain will kill him. "You'll be down there waiting, To finish me"
