Song for a Dancer Lyrics

She dances
Footsteps like raindrops patter across the stage
Second glances
She pirouettes and slowly fades away
Lost my chances
Who holds the broom that will sweep her off her feet
Hopeless romantic
When the lights on the stage fade
just our eyes meet

And I wonder what would it be
If for once she was dancing with me
She seems content to be dancing alone
So I'll sit and sigh from my seat

this is such a melancholic song; for me, is about someone who saw by the first time a girl, and she was dancing. So inmediately, he falls in love with her, as he see the way she dances, he wonders what would it be if for one she was dancing with him... but she is happy dancing by herself, alone, and don't even notice he is there. So he, disappointed, just stares at her, watching her. Is beautiful, to me.
