Your face is burned inside my brain (I lost my way)
Your taste a stamp flows through my veins (the cost I pay)
You'll never understand me
You want me to stay
You're calling but I can't hear you
I'm not listening anymore
You're subject to falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
The race of slowing down the pain (I found a way)
The pace of speaking so mundane (the sound of gain)
'Cause you'll never make me happy
So I've extinguished the flame
You're calling but I can't hear you
I'm not listening anymore
You're subject to falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
And what you want me to say, I'll never say
You're playing a game that I'll never play
So what do you want from me?
Now I've extinguished the flame
Your calling but I can't hear you
I'm not listening anymore
You're subject to falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
You're calling but I can't hear you
I'm not listening anymore
You're falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
Your taste a stamp flows through my veins (the cost I pay)
You want me to stay
I'm not listening anymore
You're subject to falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
The pace of speaking so mundane (the sound of gain)
'Cause you'll never make me happy
So I've extinguished the flame
I'm not listening anymore
You're subject to falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
You're playing a game that I'll never play
So what do you want from me?
Now I've extinguished the flame
I'm not listening anymore
You're subject to falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore
I'm not listening anymore
You're falling but I can't save you
I don't see you anymore

no comments?? it's basically i guess the guy is through with the girl cuz she couldn't make him happy or understand him, like it says.... i love this song so much!! taproot rocks!!!
I guess I forgot to mention that in the end chorus, "subject to falling" changes to "f-f-f-falling."
In many ways, this song reminds me of Papa Roach's "Scars." It's about a person who is trying to save someone from him or herself, and the bond that forms between two such people. Circumstances vary widely, but the story is always the same. Unless the other party is able or willing to make the necessary changes, eventually the "savior" must let go and allow the other person to fall away, lest he be caught in their wake.
You can't save someone else; only they can do that. However, you'd be well advised to clear the blast zone before it's too late to save yourself as well.
I believe the song is about a person the writer deeply cares for and has tried to help, however they are tired of trying to help someone who cant help themself. The writer remembers and thinks of the person but has found ways to block them out. The person they tried to help has only now realized everything and wants the writer back. But its too late and the writer is moving on
He wrote it about someone who he remembers, but he has moved on and forgot about her
i just wanted to point out how this song relates to "poem" off of welcome...
in poem, he says "in case of fire, break the glass"
in this song he says, "now I've extinguished the flame"
i like the references he uses about fighting fire. and it's funny because he uses these references in their two hit singles.
love the album taproot, thank you :)
Whenever I listen to this song it reminds me of "The 4400" And makes me want to bust up in tears. I have no Idea why. I'm not very emotional so when this song effected me I automaticly loved it.
"you can definetelly hear a "p" at the end."
Umm.......no you can't.
I noticed the way at the bridge of the song, that the drumbeat takes over into a tribal style rhythm dominated by bass and toms..... this song is very great.... Taproot has a very unique sound...
The vocalist looks like one of my friends and the middle eastern styled vocals suit the hypnotic rhythm of the song well
To me it seems the the couple broke up. The girl needs something and is trying to get him to help but he wants nothing to do with her
