You're with the red lights, your side of town
There's nothing harder than keeping a promise
Blood runs through our veins
Blood runs through our veins
So cover your lies up with another promise
Blood runs through our veins
Blood runs through our veins
Blood runs through our veins
Did I see it from the start?
If there's hope in your heart

this song is about finding out that your trust in someone was misplaced, so that the only thing you have in common now is the blood that runs through your veins. amazing song, watch out for the editors, this is defintely a fall album in the same way that turn on the bright lights was three years ago.

I always thought this was about a family member, like one of the parents(and I was thinking his father) , that neglects him, "with the red lights", I interpreted that as being with prostitutes, and well, they have the same blood running through their veines, and that's where the similarity ends for him.

I think the 2nd to last line is "It will/would flow to every part," maybe there are just different versions though. Good song, probably about someone who lies all the time and he finds it sick to the point where he considers them not even normal or human, kind of evil and cold-blooded.

'Blood' is one of my most favourtist songs at the moment, I can't get enough of it! And I'm seeing them in November, when they're supporting Franz Ferdinand! dances

This song ROCKS

love this song, love this album. meaning of this song is self-evident.

Awesome. The Editors are quickly becoming one of my new favorite bands.

good song

Obviously this song is about vampire.

I think its about someone not being who you originally thought they were, and coming to the sad conclusion that the person is just not a good person. In the song the narrator is saying I don't want associate with you, your rotten. The only thing we have in common is the blood that runs through our veins.
This song always reminds me of an ex-girlfriend. She was a mess, and turned out to be not the person I thought she was.
