Hey emochick182 where did you hear about the departure I've loved them for a whole year now they're amazing i've seen them twice and have got every single single and and the album!!! This is one of my fav songs...i love "arms around me" And "Talkshow" i'd die for them!!!! Like you both said it's really obvious and can't be misenterpreted!!! It's GRRREAT!!!
I'm not sure bout the whole long term short term stuff. I mean, lyrically, what I think they're tryin to say is that she's got it all mapped out, she's tryin to plan their relationship too far ahead. Hence the chorus, "We dance together you got me for tonight Forget we ever made it in daylight I only told you, you got it all mapped out It's too much too soon Let's dance just for tonight Let's dance just for tonight ". The part that shows what I'm tryin to say is " Forget we ever made it in daylight" and "It's too much too soon". And the name of the song kinda points out my view. Anyways, LOVE The Departure!!
i LOVE the departure, yeah like you said quite straightforward lyrics, you got the meaning spot on "I see no future in this" and "can't you see i'm not in love with you" back it up.. great song!
