DIA Lyrics
I receive
your signal, "down"
so you see
I found you out
shoot the lights we'll get out right
and follow this heart
shoot the lights we'll get out right
and follow this heart
something fades away
I never lost you
circle my mistakes
I never lost you for good
ain't I somethin'
I feel nothin'
I could never hide
am I bluffin'?
am I just denied?
mirror, mirror
reflect this scream
I've held my belief
beside these dreams
I can't guess where we'll be tomorrow
just one wish...
rumours of tomorrow
can I face tomorrow with you?
to the nines
you want it all
I perceive you'll sell me out
shoot the lights we'll get out right
and swallow this heart
shoot the lights we'll
get out right in time
mirror, mirror
reflect this scream
I've held my belief
beside these dreams
can I face tomorrow with you?
can I face tomorrow with you?
drag me to the hollows and choose
the lanterns swing, the swans lie low
we stand alone...
ain't I somethin'
I feel nothin'
I can't help but try
am I bluffin'?
have I just denied?
mirror, mirror
I've lingered long
perchance to dream
the sweetest dream
mirror, mirror
reflect this scream
for dreams that long to be
can I face tomorrow with you?
can I face tomorrow with you?
drag me to the hollows
and choose alone
choose the loss
choose the sea
the longest walk
your signal, "down"
so you see
I found you out
shoot the lights we'll get out right
and follow this heart
shoot the lights we'll get out right
and follow this heart
something fades away
I never lost you
circle my mistakes
I never lost you for good
ain't I somethin'
I feel nothin'
I could never hide
am I bluffin'?
am I just denied?
reflect this scream

The woman singing and playing violin is Emilie Autumn ^_^ look her up, she has her own amazing music out there!
the most spine-chilling song on an exceptionally eerie album. its sounds so empty, like his life devoid of love. without the love he seeks so desperately, there really is nothing left to him.
this song has a few special touches. One: Jimmy (chamberlin) is drumming on it and two: there's a violin in it, which gives it a great extra sound. And the woman who plays the violin also sings a few parts along with Billy. Its great to listen to, it makes me feel comfortable.
I think that this is defibitely the most Pumpkins-like song on the album, and not just because of Jimmy. Is that a reference to M.O.H with 'Just one wish...'?
Without a doubt my favorite song on the album. I guess it's about wondering what the future holds, maybe for for him and a partner? Sounds like he's addressing this song to someone and there's a sense of camaraderie, ("shoot the lights we'll get out right").
It's like he's learned something about a loved one that they wanted to hide, a lack of commitment maybe? ("i receive your signal down").
He's looking back on his relationship with this person ("i never lost you, circle my mistakes") and focusing on the bad points of it, things he might regret i guess.
The chorus just sounds like a frustrated sigh, weary of trying to reconcile reality with his dreams perhaps?
Bleh, there's stuff to be said for all the lines i'm sure, ive gone over some of em, I have some idea
Another awsome song from B.C. It's about a relationship that fell apart and he wonders why sort of like a parrel to drown in wondering why a relationship ended i guess I don't know exactly what this song is about but it is a damn good one.
i love this song... no doubt jimmy is an awesome touch...
not that future embrace and adore aren't good albums, but jimmy always takes billy to a whole 'nother level... at least for me
even if d'arcy and iha don't come back, if billy reunites the pumpkins with him and jimmy and two nobody fillins, they'll probably be awesome... when the pumpkins existed, i was too young to know them... i would give my right arm (i'm left handed... lol) to see the pumpkins in concert...
could you imagine, after all the turmoil and time between their breakup, what the crowd would do upon hearing the opening notes of "today," here in 2006, live, from billy corgan? that would be amazing...
Unfortunately, James Iha won't be coming back; he joined some kind of 70's revival band.
lol i agreewith stupid_name
as to the meaning of the song, i think it speaks about a broken relationship, yes, but it has like two parts... so the first is when they're trying to solve their problems "we'll get out right and follow this heart"... and he wonder whether the relationship will continue, but in the end it doesn't work out ("we'll get out right and swallow this heart") because despite all the effort, the beliefs and screams he held, he was dragged to the hollows, and chose alone the loss.
So apparently he would have been the one who left her, or lingered too long...
I love this song. songmeaningsuser has raised a point, what is this 'one wish' that billy refers to?
