I think he's singing to an actress, whether she's in normal movies or a pornstar or something. But he's probably singing about being on tour, and just kind of missing being with someone.
Interestingly enough, he kind of takes the opposite view in "Home By Saturday," when he sings "In the cities I am playing/To the people I won't ever know."
