Disco Drive Lyrics

Lurk-lurk-lurking in the pink
While living in the red
Pissing in the sink-sink-sink
To drunk to find a head
Beg-beg-begging for the black
Make me rich or make me dead

I want a little pick me up
So I won't stumble down tonight
Considering staying alive
Hitchhiking on the Disco Drive

Sometimes jobs turn to vacations
But always I must earn
Waiting for standing ovations
For filing our tax returns
Searching for zippers
Finding only seams
The seamstress for strippers
Must suspect my dirty peaking schemes

I want a little pick me up
So I won't stumble down tonight
Considering staying alive
Hitchhiking on the Disco Drive

A man can only do his best
I'm skipping steps and I'm taking breaths
Hold your horses, cool your jets
You can't make me be finished yet

Don't trust the poets, they want to get laid
They're plying their trade to the art of getting paid
Don't trust the prophets, their visions are fudged
They're buying out houses while selling us floods

The owls will get you
The owls will get you
When I was a swear word
The owls were shotguns
The owls will get you
The owls will get you
The owls will get you
The owls will get you

exactly at 2 minutes into the song, it picks up and takes you on that disco drive

i dont think it goes "when i was a swell word" i believe it was "when i was a sware word" which goes better with shotgun

best song on go forth

Awesome song. Les Savy Fav write really excellent lyrics to go with their great guitars and shouting, and that makes them a rare find. Songs that rock, and actually mean something!

it's "Too drunk to find the head", Naval slang for toilet. That's why he's pissing in the sink.

Also, "dirty, peeking schemes", and "hitchhiking on the disco drive".

Also the poets want to get paid, the second line is laid. Someone as wonderful a wordsmith as Tim Harrington wouldn't make a song so ugly with repetition like that.

I just took a look at the lyrics on the French Kiss page. Turns out he alternates between "The Hours" and "The Owls".

"Don't trust the prophets their visions are fudged. They're buying our houses while selling us floods. The hours will get you, the owls will get you When I was a swear word the hours we shotgunned."

From there it sounds like he says "Hours" twice and then "Owls" twice, from what I can here.

I'm glad I turned out correct about the other things.
