A Monument Encased In Ash Lyrics
Will you destroy the righteous with the wicked
Shine your mercy on but 50 men
Show me you're yet worthy to see the sun again
Though you're naught but dust and ash I will relent
Stand and be counted
Turn from these ruins
Run
Fire rains from the sky
The hand of justice falls
You spit in the face of the One whose might is untold
Fire rains from the sky
The scales have tipped too far
A monument encased in ash naught but a grave
Where are these men that came to you this night
Bring them forth that we may know them
Be struck blind clear now a path for those I love
Await the brimstone that comes soon to fill your grave
The stench of Sodom quenched in smoke and flame
Angels enraged bring them judgement hence
Dead eyes raised to an ash choked sky
Shine your mercy on but 50 men
Show me you're yet worthy to see the sun again
Though you're naught but dust and ash I will relent
Turn from these ruins
Run
The hand of justice falls
You spit in the face of the One whose might is untold
Fire rains from the sky
The scales have tipped too far
A monument encased in ash naught but a grave
Bring them forth that we may know them
Be struck blind clear now a path for those I love
Await the brimstone that comes soon to fill your grave
Angels enraged bring them judgement hence
Dead eyes raised to an ash choked sky

this is a pretty dank metal song and i don't especially like metal, just hardcore. it just like most of the showdown's songs, is about the last days where God pours out his wrath on the world and the believers are raised from death. the reference to 'the One whose might is untold' is to Jesus and 'the stench of Sodom' is used in the Bible to represent evil and straying from purity and good.
This song has a good message and some pretty cool guitar riffs too.
I agree, probably my 2nd favorite song on the CD. Awesome lyrics and brutal guitars.
This song is all about Sodom & Gomorrah. Theres is a typo, it should be "You spit in the face of the One whose might is yet untold" Meaning that the people now and back then, even with evidence, don't obey God and are destroyed. I love the intro and the whole song.
Dude, whoever the guitarist is for this band is so freaking good at making riffs its not even funny. I hate the guys that are screamin their lungs out, but the guy thats sorta screaming and sorta not, I like him. Anyway, just wanted to say that.
And does anybody have a tab for this song yet?
ok, I just noticed. You missed a whole sentence between Sodom and angels. It's "justice comes burning sear you from the face of the earth." and then angels.
Uber is right, Sodom and Gamorrah were cities so sinful that God got fed up and destroyed them, and this song is about that.
i must say that this song live is the most amazing thing.
but yes,i do beleive uber is right
sodom was a city, that God destroyed because of it's wickedness
"this band is full of f***ing sellouts"
WHAT? sellouts? where? how are they sellouts? and probly could of done without the language
this band kicks ass.
