We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
What’s the difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine
There’s no difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine
Anticipation and we haven’t crossed a line
It doesn’t matter when it’s only a matter of time
We'll take a holiday
I know you'd love me better
We'll take a holiday
I know you'd love me better
We'll take a holiday
I know you'd love me better
A line and a velvet rope
Looks like this party has the best view
But no life
Headstrong, my precious alibi
I refuse to complicate you more than twice
You are no reason to give
You are no reason to try
Catch up to find out
I’ve never seen this light
Caught up, I was caught up in the times
Catch up to find out I’ve never seen this light
What’s the difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine
There’s no difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine
Anticipation and we haven’t crossed a line
It doesn’t matter when it’s only a matter of time
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
Catch up to find out
You’ve never seen this light
Caught up, I was caught up in the times
Nothing’s lost, we’ve just been stuck in rewind
We stand up to get down
We stand up to get down
(Where do we go now)
We stand up to get down
(Where do we go now)
We stand up to get down
(And lose it till it’s found)
We stand up to get down
(Where do we go now)
We stand up
We stand up
We stand up…
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better
What’s the difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine
There’s no difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine
Anticipation and we haven’t crossed a line
It doesn’t matter when it’s only a matter of time
You know I’d love you better
We’ll take a holiday
You know I’d love you better

This is a cool song. It's about taking a holiday and making everything better. That's what I got out of it anyway.
Pretty catchy song once you listen to it a few times. Not sure of it's actual meaning but for me it's about a stage in a relationship when you both know it's over but you just could not accept it. You struggle and compromise to keep the things the way they used to be, but deep inside you know it's just a matter of time until it all falls apart.
I like this version, but the Thin White Duke mix also rulles. Actually this lyrics doesn't mean much to me, in spite of being one of my favourites
The lyrics are about the ending of a relationship, for example a divorce.
Cool track -- hypnotic, electronic, dance. Currently top of my MP3 playlist.
We’ll take a holiday You know I’d love you better We’ll take a holiday You know I’d love you better We’ll take a holiday You know I’d love you better
[Means if we take a break from our relationship, I'll want you more]
What’s the difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine There’s no difference if it’s yours or if it’s mine Anticipation and we haven’t crossed a line It doesn’t matter when it’s only a matter of time
[Talking about it doesn't matter who is at fault, cause it doesn't make a difference.. it just isn't working]
We'll take a holiday I know you'd love me better We'll take a holiday I know you'd love me better We'll take a holiday I know you'd love me better
[If we take a break from this relationship, you'll want me more]

[It's been fun but I wasn't really seeing the truth that we are going nowhere... fast]
Catch up to find out You’ve never seen this light Caught up, I was caught up in the times Nothing’s lost, we’ve just been stuck in rewind
[Being stuck in rewind is saying we're in a pattern of desire and rejection]
We stand up to get down We stand up to get down (Where do we go now) We stand up to get down (Where do we go now) We stand up to get down (And lose it till it’s found) We stand up to get down (Where do we go now) We stand up We stand up We stand up…
[We stand up to get down means we get together to break up and get together to break again etc etc]

I think the song is not only about the point of realizing that the relationship is on its way out but also that they were just kidding themselves to begin with.
I think there's a bit of clever sarcasm in the chorus "we'll take a holiday, you know I'd love you better" - in contrast to the verses, this line sounds optimistic and terribly naive. I think she's mocking of the notion that people actually believe such things because most commercial love songs perpetuate such unrealistic ideas.
A line and a velvet rope Looks like this party has the best view But no life Headstrong, my precious alibi I refuse to complicate you more than twice You are no reason to give You are no reason to try
I LOVE this line because it sums up her perception of club culture - "This party has the best view but no life". It's all glamour but no substance. "Headstrong, my precious alibi" - I think her alibi is directed towards herself. She's put-on a persona to adapt to her surroundings yet it defies her true nature but she's doing this because it's socially expected. The persona is simple and naive, suggesting that her partner must be also - she understands he couldn't fathom how she's unsatisfied with this lifestyle ("I refuse to complicate you more than twice").
This song is loaded with cynicism and that's what I love about Juliet - she's like an anti-pop-star. When you really listen to her lyrics you find a whole new level of meaning.
