It looks like the 1st verse is a qoute frm shakespear...but anyways...i thnk it sounds like while hs commiting suicide(drowning himself) ''listening to the rising water moan''...bt nw he wants the nightboat 2 save him...''stillness overcomes me in the night''-he dnt have to live with wat happens 2 him during the day which makes him wana commit suicide...thats just wat i thnk
