I will be the fire on your lips
But I'm overlooked and underfed
You keep me in the basement where you threw me out with the bathwater
And I will be the fury in your fists
Throwing out the things
The things I thought I wanted to be
Wasting so much time
On things I thought I wanted to be

I just see a little baby boy
Who won't admit that he fucks up
He's looking for the fire and the fury it takes to be a man
But I just see a little baby boy
Throwing out the things
The things I thought I wanted to be
Wasting so much time
On things I thought I wanted to be

Got a brand new face
So brittle that it's falling apart
It's a brand new day
This time why don't we take it from scratch
Your arms believe they are for reaching
Reach for me
Your tongue believes it is for tasting
Taste of me
I've got a secret
And you've got a problem
I'll disappear
Throwing out the things
The things I thought I wanted to be
Wasting so much time
On things I thought I wanted to be

Got a brand new face
So brittle that it's falling apart
It's a brand new day
This time why don't we take it from scratch

The second verse is talking about Bean, I think. "I just see a little baby boy Who won't admit that he fucks up", that describes Bean, in Ender's eyes. He sees this kid that looks like he's four, who acts like he's an adult, but won't admit to any mistakes, because he's trying to prove something.

I assume it has something to do with the novels of the Ender's Game series. This album is full of references to them. Anyway, that's my opinion.

I am not familiar with the Ender's Game series, but whenever I hear this song it reminds me of Fight Club.

I don't see the Ender's Game reference - Ender was never really a kid who was filled with "fire" and "fury" to become a man. He kinda keeps to himself and is pretty reserved in the book. Yeah he has a few lashouts but nothing to characterize him being enraged at going to the military camp for his entire childhood, Ender never really fucks up a lot.

I actually think it describes Ender quite well.

I agree with the Ender theories, I love the series like f-ing crazy and love any GAD song with referances to it.

"I want to see a little baby boy" That is so Ender in "Ender's Game". He wants to just be a normal little kind again, but hes being pushed and forced to be humanities savior.

Uhhh hello people... The Giants Drink was the game at the end of the mind game in the book. The game that no one could beat, but Ender killed the giant and it took him to Fairyland..

Anyway that's all I'm going to say about that, but this is 100 percent without any doubt whatsoever ....about Ender's Game. Enjoy...

Other than the title, I don't think this song has anything to do with Ender's Game.

I think the song's saying that you should just man up, be yourself, and live the life you want to live. We're constantly told how we should live, and realizing that you don't like the way something is going and making the change is hard. I'm really reading between the lines, but that's my take.

I think this song is more of a reference to Orson Scott Cards squeal to Enders Game, Enders Shadow, which deals with Bean.

"I will be the fire on your lips"

Bean knows from the start that hes smarter than everyone else, and that his abilities can help Ender achieve his goals

    "But I'm overlooked and underfed"

It stated early on that Bean is extremely small for his age, and grew up starving and underfed in the streets of Rotterdam.

"I just see a little baby boy Who won't admit that he fucks up He's looking for the fire and the fury it takes to be a man But I just see a little baby boy"

More references to Bean being young, and also very cocky because he is very smart.

    "I've got a secret And you've got a problem I'll disappear"

I believe this is a reference to Bean later in life, once he's found out that he is the only person like him, Super-smart but with a life-span of about only 20 or so years. This is his secret. "You've got a problem" may be referring to his wife (Petra) that he has to leave behind with his normal children, while he himself takes a star ship into space with his afflicted children, and they "disappear" from humanity.
