I think this song means having a crush on someone but they either always leaving or they just don't like you back. and its such a challenge to have them like you back. I dunno that's basically the story of my life I don't know about everyone else.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It makes me think of a close friend who died, I think it kind of has that "sad and happy" juxtaposition. It's sad in the sense that the person has gone but there is an undertone of happiness about the great times with that person.
