I think this is about a guy in a relationship with this girl. But this guy had no idea about what was really going on (I wish I new where I came from I wish I knew where I'd been)

Going for the obvious here, but I'm guessing a relationship is ending, perhaps one of the people involved has a drug/alcohol problem ("Distorted, crushed and Hazy-eyed"), so the other person is getting out before the other drags them down
i agree the meaning is quite simple though limit the whole thing to a relationship, the album has a concept that has nothing really tod o with relationships. The whole thing is the end of the world, not just a relationship.
