i actually think dave is saying something about his current or previous girlfriend, who wouldn't do anything to help their relationship... anyone agree?
Yeah, I think it's about the difficulty of seperation which doesn't need much working out lol
Maybe he's like struggling to let go, or he's having difficulties breaking up with her, hence being the thorn in his side

It's an ambiguous song, about a relationship that lasted 7 weeks, but also about the situation they had with their record company- being dropped by BMG then struggling to find a new record deal. Recording the album took 7 weeks, and the song is taking a little dig at those who thought that InMe wouldn't ever release their second album.
I think this song has another level. i think that yes they have been dating for 7 weeks, yes he thinks she's a thorn in his side - stoppign him from doing stuff, but hey...he feels like he needs to be there for her. maybe he feels that he is partly to blame for the whole situation?
They havnt been dating 7 weeks, they've been apart for 7 weeks. '7 weeks go by its so hard to say goodbye' hes obviously findin it hard to get over someone espec as he didnt relise it was going to end 'you sed that we were fine, lying all this time'. It must have ended ubruptly which makes it hard to get over
