I think it's actually "and I'm afraid of how much I love you" instead of "and I'm afraid of how much I'll lose". Well, at least that's what I'm hearing. Beautiful song, regardless.

Maria's ability to write wonderful, poignant lyrics always makes me smile. She focuses on the most simple things and points out the beauty in them.
I think this song is about letting go of your fear to LOVE.
its about how people think too much about things and how they COULD happen, instead of just letting them happen on their own. and yes...more literally its about how people are afraid to love, and how, in the end she lets go of her breath and lets things happen
