I've always thought this song was about a friend who passes away. and He's just sayin' his last goodbyes. Really a sad song. and with only 8 lines long, beautiful lyrics...
beautiful song that i wish was longer...i agree with dannyro123 but also believe it could be from a relationship perspective with an inevitable conclusion to it whether it be a death or scenario in which they can no longer be together. Whatever the case, it is still among my favorites by the Beautiful Girls
