Pretty sure he actually sings "Take my hand and I will mellow" not "I will know". Such a lovely song.

I think it's about the first bit of a relationship when you run around like a chicken with it's head cut off (as Magnetic Fields would have it).

I think.. its about him meeting someone who's made him feel so much better.. more comfortable with life and peaceful and happy. And only that person can keep him straight.
