man oh man open your minds. You can be pro America and still oppose the war, in america there is such a thing as free thinking. Perhaps you have of it? You have the choice to not blindly follow the government and believe everything they tell you. You think oil is worth human life? fuck you all, the whole war is based on LIES. Helping them my ass it seems to me like america needs to "help" everyone now. They don't even want our help, they practically spit in our faces. Bush can go to hell but i guess he isn't, God should be very proud of all the christian wisdom he's preaching and spreading.
I dont know much about avenged sevenfold but i agree that this song seems hostle to the left wingers who are trying to change his mind "you take the left I'll take the right I fell the hate you've built for me and I say pay attention baby"
But to me it's just about someone trying to change your mind in general. I lean more towards the left, but hey to i have no problem with them voicing their opinion, hopefully they have no problem with me voicing mine :)

"Blinded in Chain has to do with all of our political parties always fighting over little thing and never really coming together for a common good. Everyone knows its unproductive, but we all continue to support that system of government. It also is a tribute on how this country was started and how we became what we are, our characteristics and our flaws, and how I feel some of our flaws are what makes the USA great."
it is about political parties influencing the way people think. people just follow one belief not really understanding it. the two parties fight and fight, but don't really understand what they're fighting for, they can't just come together.

i think this is a brilliant song, even lyrically, it shows you can make a strong political statement without being anti-america.

Sevefold definitely has a point, the political parties are definitely the weakness in our government.
personally, i think the concept of this song is that you're better off living for the moment and thinking for yourself, rather than pitying others and thinking about tomorrow too much stay blind, it's better that way?
i read that Shadows said he could have done a better job of the lyrics . especially in the bit "we're at it again, i turn around another fcken war man". Its not about war, but he says how reading it can interprate it to be about war!!
A7X is a great band...there is no doubt about it. But this song, lyrically, is my least favorite on the cd even though it is a decent song. I think its to political for a bad like A7X. They should be praised for their voicing their opinion on the war in Iraq and the Bush administration but i think its drifting away from the style that made them great. Anyone wish to rebutal? Should cause good convo. btw I support president bush and the wars in the middle east even though i believe certain measures could have been taken from both sides of our political system to make the transfer of power more efficient and save more American lives without losing face....

I think this song is one of the best songs on city of evil. Lyriclly yes, it's not that great but being a straight up power metal song it def does its best to keep the listener intrested. Esp with a song thats 6:34 seconds long! My hat is off to M Shadows and company for great song structure.
