this song is obviously about straight-edge. and it rules.
It's basically saying that you shouldn't decide to be edge so young in life.
This is an awesome song. I think its about the whole sXe explosion and how people arent being edge for the right reason, but with saying that i think its just as much about growing up in general. Your only a kid once so why not be one...
This song is just great, it really motivates me and puts everything into perspective for me. Why take an oath when you aren't really sure if you want to live by it?
This song is speaking directly to young people who claim straightedge. It's saying not to make a lifelong commitment to anything, let alone the pledge of being drug free for life. It's saying that one has plenty of time to decide what's right, and that when one is young, one should break rules, test the boundaries, etc. Not live by a code during the time in one's life that is supposed to be the most carefree and reckless.

More vaguely, it's about not being too eager to join any movement or cause too eagerly. It's about being yourself and letting your true values come naturally.
