Swallowed in the Sea

Okay basically i think its about this person (i am assuming it is a guy) is lost somewhere along this path he has taken and the person he is singing about is helping. <br /> Here is my basic analysis for every line: <br /> "You cut me down a tree and brought it back to me" - She used something that has to do with a tree, most likely paper, to show him that what is going on with him is wrong. <br /> "And that's what made me see where I was going wrong" - This "letter" (most likely very long) has given him a sort of reality check, or awakening in a sense. <br /> "You put me on a shelf and kept me for yourself" - This girl has worked with him and helped him and protected him to the point where she is able to put him on a shelf either showing him off or giving him the chance to explore the world in this new him. <br /> "I can only blame myself, you can only blame me" - He knows it is his fault he was doing something wrong with his life and sort of apologizing to her.<br /> <br /> "And I could write a song a hundred miles long" - To thank her or maybe just express himself he can write a song about her or maybe his new life.<br /> "Well that's where I belong and you belong with me" - He is falling for her and maybe trying to seduce her.<br /> "And I could write it down or spread it all around" - He knows with this new life he has all this freedom that he can do whatever he wants with this "song" he has created.<br /> "Get lost and then get found or swallowed in the sea" - This bad decision from the beginning could have been his past relationships and finally get found by this girl or maybe get swallowed by the sea meaning catching other "fish in the sea"<br /> <br /> "You put me on a line and hung me out to dry" - after he has taken this ride in the sea (other relationships) she has accepted him and hung him up to dry, or let him recover<br /> "Darling, that's when I decide to go see you" - when she accepts him he knows she is the one for him<br /> "You cut me down to size and opened up my eyes" - She whipped him into shape and opened his eyes to the truth <br /> "Made me realize what I could not see" - Some sort of awakening. discovering something about life that he was not aware of before.<br /> <br /> "And I could write a book, the one they'll say that shook the world" - first i think the "the world" part should be on the next line. He has so much to say about her that he will right a book that will shake the world. (making a huge impression)<br /> "And then it took, it took it back from me"<br /> "And I could write it down or spread it all around" - Same freedom discussed on the line earlier similar to this one. <br /> "Get lost and then get found and you'll come back to me" - Not quite sure about this one. I guess he explores other people but she comes back to him. this can suggest a desperate nature in this girl. <br /> "Not swallowed in the sea" - NOT having other relationships and being faithful now.<br /> <br /> "And I could write a song a hundred miles long" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> "Well, that's where I belong and you belong with me" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> "The streets you�re walking on, a thousand houses long" The really long path she is taking to help or keep up in a sense with him. <br /> "Well, that's where I belong and you belong with me" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> "Oh, what good is it to live with nothing left to give" - she gives her time to this relationship and this suggests that she is really selfless and gives gives gives<br /> "Forget but not forgive, not loving all you see" - the usual saying is forgive but not forget. this is backwards which can mean that she is unique. i wasnt quite sure about that line. <br /> "Oh, the streets you�re walking on a thousand houses long" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> "Well, that's where I belong and you belong with me" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> "Not swallowed in the sea" - Again.. not with other relationships... not catching other fish in the sea... being faithful... thats where she belongs.. NOT in the sea.. but with him.<br /> <br /> "You belong with me, not swallowed in the sea" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> "Yeah, you belong with me" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> <br /> "Not swallowed in the sea" - Same as earlier line similar to this.<br /> <br /> This and "The Scientist" are my two favorite coldplay songs. I like songs that make me think and this is definately one of them.
