Michio's Death Drive Lyrics
feel the earth under your feet
and walk foot follows foot into the sea
watch your step, read the sign
learn to swim or learn to sink
or stand with the ocean to your neck and sunken feet
you're the mask on my face
at the masquerade painted black
you can take a place and a table if they even let you in
feel the earth and dig it up and put yourself in the hole
when the tide comes in you'll never feel anything again
you know how a finger folds
and you know what you need to breathe
our hands catch on everything
when we're not asleep
i drive too fast at night
because accidents happen to other men
and not me
walk into the sea
and walk foot follows foot into the sea
watch your step, read the sign
learn to swim or learn to sink
or stand with the ocean to your neck and sunken feet
at the masquerade painted black
you can take a place and a table if they even let you in
when the tide comes in you'll never feel anything again
and you know what you need to breathe
our hands catch on everything
when we're not asleep
because accidents happen to other men
and not me

We're young and invincible.
No comments? Why not?!
The instrumental ending of this song has to be the best in any Minus The Bear song. It just makes me want to get up and dance in a stupid way!
i swear... the music on this ablum is so technical it's insane
case in point!
minus the bear.. booyah achieved!
ahh, i love this song.
i love the lyrics to this song so so much. how can one band write such good lyrics AND music. it's insane.
The slower breakdown picking bit near the start is awesome, then it kicks in and BAM.
And yes the end is fucking amazing.
i drive too fast at night because accidents happen to other men and not me
huh?
I kind of thought that the song is about suicide so accidents happen to other men and not him because he doesnt really care.

Not about the song itself, but the title; of course, Minus the Bear is known to have crazy titles that have nothing to do with the song... anyway, the only Michio I can think of is Dr. Michio Kaku, renowned quantum physicist and student of String Theory; a unified field theory (theory that describes (explains) everything in the universe). He is called the "Einstein of our time".
Just thought I'd bring that to the table.
While they have many titles unrelated to the songs, most (if not all) of the track titles on Menos El Oso don't fall into that category. Many of the titles are direct references to the lyrics (ie: Memphis and 53rd) or at least loosely related (ie: The Pig War).
There's probably some significance here too.
