this song has great meaning. it's saying how we all are so caught up in making money, and we should be caring about love, romance, and enjoying life.

i always got that he's talking about what they are doing, specificly. like touring and such. there's not the biggest money to be made on the road, but the experiance itself is worth more than money can buy.

"you're touching me like piano keys" - like the audience reaching up from the floor to the stage

"you can't put a price on this brand of action" - i've been on tour before, and you can't

"what does it cost for this life of excess? would you ever miss your desk's caress" - trying to be a full time band is hard cause there's so much temptation and pressure to go to school and/or get a real job, and the money doesn't exactly start pouring in, even as your popularity builds. but they're sticking with it. and getting there. and loving it by the sound of it.

i picture a prostitute? talking about time and money. "would you ever miss your desk's caress" maybe she quit her former job? or its talking about how everyone's job screws them over! i think that is the best conclusion i have come to.

I'm not so sure it's about touring. just because of when it says "we're all just selling time you got a lot to lose the paper's a ticking clock you got a lot to lose" i just can't seem to see how that has anything to do with touring. but it's most definately a interesting and different perspaective on this song.

i do think it has to do with money and sex.

but i don't understand what this part means "there is no mouth to trace it's shape on you you seem to let it fuck you anyway" if someone could maybe clarify that for me? =] thanks.

Im not sure if you guys are getting the full picture here. "we don't have money so we can't lose it but you're touchin me like piano keys you can't buy that movement" Its obviously referring to the fact that money can not buy real love. It can buy sex, but it wont be nearly as satisfying as having sex with someone you really love.
