Endless Shovel Lyrics

these metal heads
the market research
they’re so fond of that
those beady eyes
the velvet tea cups
the arms on the maps

i’ll never know just what i’m doing
i’ll never know what is it
i never know what is wrong with you, you know
it feels so bad

the foreign films
the skin and matter
the thoughts on the shelf
the level head
the endless shovel
the fat on the lap
i feel so bad
yet it seems so right
you point out every mistake and complain every night

i’ll never know just what I’m screwing
i’ll never know what is it
i never know what is wrong with you, you know
it feels so bad

hmm not a happy song.. but iah like itah. i cant say what its about exactly but it seems obvious doesnt it, that its about a bad relationship or one that went down the crapper? i feel so bad yet it seems so right you point out every mistake and complain every night

that part gets me. "yet it seems so right" that changes my thoughts on the song a bit.

Yeah, the lyrics are sort of spacey, but I like them. The melody kicks butt, too.

Brilliant song.

This song describes the wide gap between two different kinds of people. He or she acts in an educated way such as watching foreign films, reading a lot and always pointing the mistakes of the singer, which makes singer feel confused with the thought that whether his casual way of living is right. And singer feel that though they stand close ,in the deep they are far away.

There's a litttle bit missing from these lyrics..

after, the fat on the lap....

i'll never know just what i'm doing i'll never know what is it i never know what is wrong with you... you know it feels so bad

You know it feels so bad and yet it seems so right you point out every mistake and complain every night

I have literally no idea what this song is about, but it's interesting what iced coffee said about high culture, because the 'velvet tea cup' always made me think of apiece of art by Meret Oppenheim, which is a furry teacup, it's pretty famous. Equally, the 'fat in the lap' makes me think of the work of Joseph beuys, he used a lot of melted fat. I'm not sure this has any bearing on what the song's about, but it's what I associate with it anyway...
