Believe Me Natalie Lyrics

Believe me, Natalie
Listen Natalie
This is your last chance to find
A go-go dance to disco now
Please believe me, Natalie
Listen Natalie
This is your last chance to find
A go-go dance to disco now

Forget what they said in Soho
Leave the oh-no's out
And believe me, Natalie
Listen Natalie
This is your last chance

There is an old cliché
Under your Monet, baby
Remember the arch of roses
Right above your couch
Forget what they said in Soho
Leave the oh-no's out
Yes, there is an old cliche
Under your Monet, baby

You left the station nailed to the floor
With speculation, what was it for?
In that old hallway
Mom says why dont you stay
You've been away for a long time

Believe me, Natalie
This is your last chance
To find a go-go
Forget what they said in Soho
And walk away
If my dreams for us can't get you through
Just one more day
It's alright by me

God help me somehow
There's no time for survival left
The time is now...
Cause this might be your last chance
To disco, oh-oh

This song is, in a literal sense, about a girl with aids, but beyond that it is about everyone At some point in their lives everyone is this girl, or at the very least, knows someone who is this girl

Natalie could be your best friend from high-school who isn't ever going to leave the crappy little town you both were born in.

Natalie could be a person you hardly knew who moved to a big city and realized he/she would rather be back home, but can't face the difficulties that would come with it

Natalie could be the girl you met and fell in love with but won't come out her shell and open herself up to you

Natalie could be a middle aged man stuck in a dead-end job as he watches the essence of his life slip thorugh the hand he once thought held a tight grip on his dreams

Natalie could be the person you constantly worry is slipping down the wrong path in life, and throwing away all their potential, even at a tender age

Natalie is everyone Everyone has a no turning back point in their life, to do something, or to wilt Everyone has massive potential and beauty, symbolized by the arch of roses above them Everyone has friends, family, whomever telling them they can never do it, never change, never be something special Everyone has someone too, who believes and dreams for them And everyone must take advantage when ever they have achance to disco

@futurfaildnovlist *applause. Wonderful reading.

This is an amazing song, itself. It's beautifully written actually. The Killers mentioned in a magizene that "Natalie" is a studio-54 dancer who gets diagnosed with AIDS. "Listen Natalie This is your last chance to find A go-go dance to disco now

Forget what they said in Soho Leave the oh-no's out And believe me, Natalie Listen Natalie This is your last chance"

Why is it so terrible that the song is about a woman with AIDS? Thats life, you know. If it is infact about AIDS, instead of being unhappy about it, why dont you look at it as a song that is encouraging someone to use their time wisely and not let things slip away from them? Because that basically is what it is.

Not Valid

You're right about SOHO but wrong about Studio 54's location. It was on 54th Street uptown.

I love how The Killers have sad lyrics but their music still sounds so happy so you have to really think about it... I love this song, and after reading what pinup said, well, that just makes me sad.

Beautiful lyrics...
