It's Not the Fall That Hurts Lyrics
all my life i've been
fall fall falling apart
been tumbling down
quick fast right from the start
i never learn
just get up and go on
until i'm just knocked
right off of my feet
but it's not the fall that hurts
it's when you hit the ground
cos it's not the fall that hurts
it's when you hit the ground
stumbling with every step i take
and it seems i can't get a grip
i'm soon gonna slip
and then i look down
i see that the ground
is closing in fast again
and then boom
but it's not the fall that hurts
it's when you hit the ground
cos it's not the fall that hurts
it's when you hit the ground
fall fall fall fall fall fall falling apart
fall fall fall fall fall fall falling apart
fall fall fall fall fall fall falling apart
fall fall fall fall fall fall falling apart
(fall fall fall fall fall fall falling apart)
but it's not the fall that hurts
(fall fall fall fall fall fall falling apart)

for some reason i find this song uplifing.. but when i look at the lyrics.. there's nothing really uplifting about them.. weird.
This is a cool little pop song. I agree that this is an uplifting song despite the lyrics. I was thinking this song was just about relationships, and how your heart jumps while you're falling, but then you hit the ground and lose the person. Either that, or this guy actually jumps out of buildings and writes songs about it.

Just listening ot this song n ive come up with my own little theory! could it be like its not taking the chance (E.g the fall) that matters its what happens after you've taken that chance (its when u hit the ground). or is that just me? nea mind i love this song!
I think it's more general. you know nothing bad hurts until you have to face the consequences. it reminds me of this time when this guy came to my school (the high school has a drinking reputation, that's what happens to you when you go to a girl's private school) anyway for a long time he had been drinking to fit in. it was ok. his grades got lower, but parties are a lot more fun then studying. so the situation was always gettinng worse, but nothing serious had happened so he continued. then he was hanging out with his friends and they were playing quarters or something and he got wasted, had a blackout, went for a joy ride, and killed 5 people. this song is sortof like that because this guy had been falling all his life and he wasn't able to get a grip until he was on trial for the deaths of a load of people.

agree to what annaS said, how ppl can do stupid things without thinking about the consequenses before they actually face them, but by then it's already too late to do anything about it
"but it's not the fall that hurts it's when you hit the ground"
i think this text is about that you don't realize what's going on until it's too late. At least it mean that to me. I think, that when you fall in love, you are like falling, and it feels amazing and wonderful, but when you "hit the ground" you realize that everything is over and you're back to the reality.. i think.
I've always thought that it talked about how when you're falling for someone it is all new and awesome and then you lose them, you fall and that is what hurts.
I really do love this song! <3
