I'm The One

Can't believe I'm the first to comment on this song. This is my favorite song on the new album. It's clearly about a girl who is being sexually abused by her father.

KornOfTheStoneAge is dead on. The song is obviously about a father sexually abusing his daughter. I think the "We're coming for you" line is about the police or some law enforcement coming to take the guy away for what he is doing to his daughter.

yeah, the obvious answer is that its about sexual child abuse... but i feel its more then that. i cant put my finger on it, but it has to do with the chorus. what what does the chorus mean? who is saying that?

heres my two cents. bascally yeah its about a chick getting sexually abused by her father, but i dont think it ends there. i think he loves her and unlike everyone else he isnt going to treat her like shit and he wants to be with her but he thinks shes too good for him. and he's goin to go after her father. thats basically what i got from it.

I could be off base here, but i've always thought it was about a girl getting abused by her dad and having a shitty life in general. Probably does a lot of drugs, goes out with abusive guys, etc. The chorus is a guy who really loves her and would treat her right but thinks she might be too good for him or something, hence the "I don't deserve her" and being too scared to talk to her face to face, hence the "Won't you tell her?" line. Just my two cents, it could very well be what scheter says about the dad loving her.

Ahh nevermind then. I misread what scheter said. I thought he was saying while her dad abuses her, he still loves her. My bad, I agree with Scheter though.

Kai1Kai...I agree with you...at first i thought what everyone else is saying but...i looked at it a different way and its almost liek...the father doesnt realize what hes doing is wronge and thats the father talking you know? but I might be wrong too ...you never know...it could be some guy or it could be the father...they worded it very cleverly...

ok look, ive been in love with a girl who was abused by her father (not sexually, physically), in fact i still am. and she did also have a shitty life in general, she did\does go out with abusive guys and drinks. And the chorus, well thats how i feel, she actually cheats on her abusive boyfriend with me, (guess we're friends with benefits or something), but it took me forever to get it through her head that i cared about her unlike everyone else, but i still feel like i don't deserve her. And as for the "we're coming for you" line, i agree with shecter. I haven't gone after her father for what he's done but that doesnt' mean i dont want to. Sorry to give you people so much info on my personal life but i thought itd help interperet the song

Its so clearly that this song is about a girl whos being abused my her farther, something like that will ruin a girls life - she starts taking drugs, drinking alot etc.. But I think the chorus is about a guy who is in love with that girl who is being abused - somehow he dosent think that he is good enough for her.
