wow brilliant its about depression. or at least thats what i get out of it 'do you believe in love, like i believe in pain' i think its about someone who suffered a truama. probably like getting molested or was in a war. then comes home and drives his loved ones away then hates himself. probably totally wrong. but thats what i get out of it. oh and it is 'when you see me cut me down'- according to the cd booklet

great intro to a great album...

Do you believe in love, like I believe in pain. What an awesome line! The song's about getting hurt by some chick. Maybe she keeps comin back or he's hurt everytime he sees her. He thinks its because of himself, how he is, why she fucks him over.

AWSOME FUCKING SONG!!!! I think it's my favorite on the album....I think is album actually tops Disclaimer I and II

I think this song is about how the women in a relationship always feel like they have to be in control lol thats just what i get from it though.. who knows about these guys all i know is they rule!!

No......It's cut me down........this song rocks and Seether is a great band....i hope they get the props they deserve!!!

First of all it is "Cut me down" and second, why is hardly anybody commenting on this song. It is a crazy intro to the album and it deserves a good following. The lyrics cover two people who seem to be hoplessly screwed up and move to Shaun himself. and to those angry about him not swearing on this album, you really need to shut up. for one thing its over and done with and for another all the 'Fuck's just get in the way after a while. I mean, look at Fred Durst. The language restrictions forced them to come up with really good lyrics to compensate and it's made them write better lyrics than ever. anyways, that's my speech on Seether. Kick ass band guys...

In the second verse. Isn't it 'he' instead of 'she'?

Ok, no, it is SHE in the second verse. That line, "Nobody died for you, somebody pray for me" could be taken a couple different ways. He could be saying that he doesn't believe that anbody died for us, IE. Jesus, or whoever you believe in. But even though he doesn't believe that, he still wants some one to pray for him, because maybe he's wrong, and someone did die for us. The song has plenty of different meanings that could be gained from it. I like the one about war, because that's usually what happens. I know from personal experience with someone in my family. They go to war, and then they're sent home, and they believe that noone could possibly understand what they've seen and been through, so they push everyone away. Then they regret it, and wish that they hadn't, because they realize just how much they need their loved ones to be there for them. It also sounds like a relationship song. In the first two verses, he's watching the man and woman struggle, and in the third verse, he's struggling because of them. It could be like a parent child relationship. You usually feel pulled between two opposite forces when your parents divorce, here again, I speak from personal experience. So, he's trying to place the blame where it belongs, on his parents, or these two fictional characters, but in the third verse, he blames himself. And throughout the whole song, you can see it coming from a mile away, because he keeps saying, '"It's because of me, right!!???"' And at the very end, he makes it plainly clear that he wants them to suffer the way they've made him suffer.
