you quiver like a candle on fire
I'm putting you out
maybe tonight we could be the last shout
'cause I'm fascinated by your style
your beauty will last for a while
you're feeling instead of being
the more that I live on the inside
nothing to give
I'm infatuated by your moves
I've got to search hard for your clues
trying to outrun your fears
you're running to lose
heart on your sleeve, your sole in your shoes
take a left, a sharp left and another left
meet me on the corner, we'll start again
I'm putting you out
maybe tonight we could be the last shout
'cause I'm fascinated by your style
your beauty will last for a while
you're feeling instead of being
the more that I live on the inside
nothing to give
I'm infatuated by your moves
I've got to search hard for your clues
trying to outrun your fears
you're running to lose
heart on your sleeve, your sole in your shoes
take a left, a sharp left and another left
meet me on the corner, we'll start again

a cover, but why not.
I prefer Badly Drawn Boy's song.
Kings of Convenience did a cover of this song? I need to find it. I adore the Badly Drawn Boy original.
Had no idea this was actually a cover! The original is good but I love this version, and one knows it's a good cover because they've pretty much made their own version of the song - they changed it up really well.
It's a really well-written song due to all its subtleties - epitomized by the fact that the line "once around the block" is never actually mentioned, but the listener is instructed to take "a left, a sharp left and another left". So they're once around the block of course!
A really intelligent piece of music.
