I think Dlewis and and Zaphlin are right. It's hilarious how many people here are saying "Isn't it obvious?" Like everything they say is right. Song interpretation isn't so literal. I mean, geez, do you think Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is about a sparkly girl in the sky? This is also my opinion, but I wanted to look deeper into the lyrics. I think the song is sort of about the high school environment, how rumors run rampant and are just made to hurt people. The part that says "Somebody told me that you had a boyfriend that looked like a girlfriend that I had in February of last year" Is commenting on how ridiculous rumors get. In my opinion, it's about liking a girl that he gets made fun of for liking and the rumors start getting to him ("Never thought I'd let a rumor ruin my moonlight") Does anyone agree?
