I think hes trying to say shes not feeling anything but he is...there was no spark between "them" but he knows there could be if he just keeps chasing after her.
this is one of their best songs musically...i love the guitar at the beginning, then at the end...its so beautiful.

it relates to the terrible situation i'm in exactly. i'm wasting my time chasing after someone when i know the relationship wouldn't work out, and we could always be just friends, but i love him too much to give up.
