Dig deep dig in deeper you go where only fools fear to tread
You'll find devices to kill your master why not kill your maker instead
Leave it to the ones that own you leave it to those ones to
Disown you put faith & trust in the dusk Do what you must do

[Bridge]
I'm getting edgy for those departed left all alone left still forgotten!

[Chorus]
Miles to go and sky's to fly
Hold back the day
Miles to go and sky's to fly it's darkest before the Dawn

Claw hard now from your casket
Six feet and getting deeper should the top,
Soil feel Heavy it must be getting weaker Towers people build,
Up in life become frail and fall to the ground
Fuck them there opinion Deceiving the Honest Man!

[Bridge]

ALways ,always ,darkest before the dawn

[Chorus]

    Well i can interpret:

'Hold back the day'=Not wanting something to happen, trying to stop it. death of someone maybe?

'Im getting edgy for those deprated'=departed meaning someone who has passed on. Getting anxious for someone who has passed on?

'Left all alone…Left still forgotten!'=meaning people have forgotten about people have passed, not caring.

So all i can really tell is death. But yeah, could be something totally different.

Man, Dez is a god! Which brings me to the meaning of this song... I'm pretty sure that's kinda a lingering opinion in the back of this song... fuk god. "Deceiving the Honest Man" "Kill your maker instead" of course, I think primarily it's about what Dez said we must all do, just streamroll through life and anyone who gets in your way. I think the chorus is sayin that he still has a lot more to do before the light comes, he's welcoming the darkness. And I think he's saying that he's at his darkest now, but it's just the prequil to the "dawn" that is comming. Perhaps a message from a change in him personally or musically, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I see alot of meaning written all over parts of this song but I'm still not sure what the overall meaning of it is.

"Dig deep, dig in deeper. You go where only fools fear to tread."

Maybe he's digging deep into and questioning his faith or beliefs, without letting the fear of choosing the wrong path stop him, like it does some people (fools).

"You'll find devices to kill your master. Why not kill your maker instead?"

Maybe after digging in deeper he's found great reason to say fuk it all to whatever faith or ideas the he has been believing...and maybe he insists that if anyone else digs deeper than the might find the same thing.

I kindof lose the song after that , because its confusing.

When he says "It's darkest before the dawn…" I don't think he sticks to the phrase's usual meaning, as in as dark at it seems.....as bad as things seem, remember its darkest before the dawn/ dont give up. This kindof contradicts "Put your faith and trust in the dusk."

"Dig deep, dig in deeper. You go where only fools fear to tread." i think this is saying look deeper into faith and dont be afraid to give your point of veiw or fear what people dont think about, i think it is telling you to not just follow what everyone else is following and to look deeper into what your being told. "Left all alone… Left still forgotten!" what is known to be wrong / bad is being forgotton because people dont want it to be true "Put your faith and trust in the dusk." trust no one because nothing is as it seems. what an amazing song!

"Always darkest before the dawn!" your kept in the dark, before the truth dawns in on you and makes you question and find out whats really going on

I agree with the above, it's about death - but for some reason, this song screams "suicide" to me.

"Dig deep, dig in deeper. You go where only fools fear to tread. You'll find devices to kill your master. Why not kill your maker instead?"

Digging, as in you're digging your own grave. Kill your master - kill the reason why you're upset, or suicidal. Kill your maker - kill the maker of the upset, which is yourself.

"Leave it to the ones that own you… Leave it to the one to disown you… Put your faith and trust in the dusk. Do what you must do…"

You're leaving the grief with those who are still living. To "put your faith and trust in the dusk" I think is to say "This situation is the death of me, I can't get out of it" - to be suicidal over something.

"I'm getting edgy… For those departed… Left all alone… Left still forgotten!"

He's getting edgy for those who didn't get to live their life to the fullest. Obviously, Dez has got to have a pretty good life right now, and he's sad that some people don't experience it all.

"Miles to go and sky's to fly Hold back the day… Miles to go and sky’s to fly It's darkest before the dawn…"

I think this bit is saying that he's got miles to go and skies to fly - he wants to hold back the day he'll die. "It's darkest before the dawn" is one of the best metaphors I've heard. He's saying that people shouldn't be upset or suicidal, there's so much more in life to live for.

"Claw hard from your casket. Six feet and getting deeper. Should the top soil feel heavy, It must be getting weaker. Towers people build, up in life… Become frail and fall to the ground… Fuck them, their opinion. Deceiving the Honest Man!!"

This verse to me is about the act of committing suicide itself. "Fuck them, their opinion, decieving the honest man" to me is saying that it's as if you're decieving all those who appreciated your life when you do it.

Maybe all that is a load of bullshit and doesn't make a bit of sense, but that's just my opinion and my interpretation. Take it as you may.
