I do declare theirs something in the air I'm burning the candle at both ends Bitter Betrayals Skeleton Keys Houses to Haunt Well, it's alright by me Rags to Ruin Some fool Handy Choices Some would say, not a Ghost of a chance The Ghosts in my mind they're one of a kind they tell me what to do and its shut down you

Some things are best just left unsaid

End of the line one door closes another door closes and now your boxed in

Feel eyes in the trees the foreboding path the turn of the head I hear it laugh it says Hang em Now It says Hang em High When you're done then, Hail to the sky

MAN!! FUKIN AWESOME SONG!! Can't wait till the album comes out, just a few more weeks! Anyways, the meaning is freakin awesome, just one of those anger songs that's great to listen to while pumping your fists into some unsuspecting punk in a mosh pit, lol. Insane, Dez has done it again... DAMN BOY, YA DONE GOOD!

The singer is the same dude from coal chamber, but I can't find anything that says either band stopped. Does he sing for two bands? "Devildriver" the album by devildriver was released the same year as "Giving the devil his due" by coal chamber. Dez does both bands?

Coal Chamber is finished, Giving the Devil His Due, was a collection of songs (demos, remixes, etc), Devildriver is full time for Dez.

What I'm getting from this song is, that its about taking the leap of faith, taking chances, those sort of things, (just what im thinking right now)

This song is the bombshell for me, I remember waiting for the new album to come out, and then i was able to hear this song first, while hearing the first 50 seconds where its kindof slow and soft i was freaking out like "Damn they sold out on their new album, they sold out!", then the heaviness kicked in and that long as hell scream and it leveled my ass. There hasn't been a day of my life where this song couldn't put a smile on my face lol.

before i heard this song i had a few devildriver songs downloaded but i was not a really big fan. then i seen the video premiere on headbangers ball last saturday and i loved it. It was pretty much a mix of footage from the tour they were on with lamb of god (my favorite band) in europe. The video is great and so is the song. Im buying the album this weekend.

I lovr the melodic intro to this song, though I wish they did more with it...But still an awesome opening for a great album...

The intro to this song is beyond wicked, reminds me of almost Genesis or Pink Floyd or sumthin.

When the double kick blazed in perfectly in tune with the guitar I couldn't help but learn the drumtab for this song off by heart.

I don't see why people are lost when Devildriver start with a soft beginning, it's different. Which is good. Devildriver would be shit if they just followed any other metalcore band.

Mint song, make sure you download Fury of Our Maker's Hand too if you're new to Devildriver.

Anyways, this song is about someone being opressed into deadly decisions by his society. Imo anyways.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
