I speak French, pretty much all this song says is 'I want to be with you, in your arms, in Paris', in a nutshell. It's not about bringing home a bottle of wine or making "your lady" scream.
I don't find it corny, there is no such thing as corny, just people who don't appreciate things appropriately. Or people who don't understand how the person speaking feels.
