This song has a very Bright Eyes feel to it, I'm talking the "Fevers and Mirrors" days, very cool.
i think it's about the day after first making love to someone you really, really love, and how you just want to stay in bed forever, and that represents a dream.
and then afterwards, he gets jealous of any guy the girl talks to "They fall into place so jealously"
and he just wants to go back to how they were.

My best guess is that this is about the end of a relationship. The guy is wishing he could make a night last forever and whining about the "dreams we left behind".
Another under appreciated song by JamisonParker. I get a "I'd spend the rest of my life dreaming, as long as it can be with you, but since we don't fall asleep together anymore, I'll keep the dreams we used to have and I'll dream alone".. something along those lines

i agree with ellie117. a guy and girl just had sex together for the first time and now they can't think of what else to do. so now they just want to fall asleep and stay like that because they don't want any akwardness to happen once they open their eyes in the morning.
