it's a scene from jean-luc godard's 1963 movie contempt. it originally takes place between a man and a woman. the woman is inquiring. it's a scene my girlfriend loves.

The last song on this album, "Deaf Kids," also has a nod to the film CONTEMPT. The album and film both end with the same sound clip of someone saying "Silencio" into a loudspeaker. (I had to leave that little tidbit here, because "Deaf Kids" has no other lyrics to speak of, and therefore no entry!)
