Long Walk Home Lyrics
Pretty much, I think the guy is still madly in love with the girl. He is so lost without her, nothing makes sense. He trys to forget to make her resepct him, and probably in an attempt to reconnect with her. He wants to leave to forget.... but when he thinks of her, he cant.
I love This Day and Age, but there lyrics never really make much sense to me. :]
I think the guy wants another chance, but they both have personal demons, he just wants to give it a try, he doesn't want to come out of the relationship wondering what could have been.
As for the 'We've come to far just to set our eyes on a new star' part, I think he's talking about the relationship has gotten somewhere, and now she's just leaving, with a whole different goal or a whole different guy.
So yeahhhh...
Just another theory.
I deffinatly think the person that submitted the lyrics needs typing lessons.
this is what I think but I think it's a guy who is looking back on a past relationship and enjoying every memory and he loses track of time and he's upset that she wants to leave him but he's happy that they at least had a chance to try
hes lost but patiently waiting for her to figure things out.hes def. hopelessly in love.he does eventually feels hes not making an impact and needs to move on but hes still greatful..
Scream on rooftops , it didnt come from me, you cheesehead..will you kill the grammar trend.be a leader and attempt it..
but!!
''How to spell definitely. ... The correct spelling is definitely. Not definately. Not definatly. Not definantly. Not definetly. ''
I think I understand what he is trying to get across and personally i love this song.
Of course he loves this girl and i believe he knows he needs to move on, but doesn't want to. Whenever he thinks of this girl that has changed his life, he knows that any "new star" just wouldn't be the same.
So he is moving "at the slowest of speeds," [sort of lingering] to see if either one of them will try to rebuild what they have recently lost. Hoping that one of them will.
But everytime he thinks of her leaving, he knows it wasn't as he had thought it was. Now, he is going in circles trying to make sence of what happened to them together, "finding himself"
In the end he needs someone to tell him its over, so if she doesn't want to talk, "then this isn't love." And he accepts that.
Yet he will always think of her.
I love this song. its my favorite. It seems like theres more meaning to all of their music, than just a boy and a girl in a relationship or finishing one. I'm kind of tired of everyone saying that thats what all the music is about. It might be about that, but i think its al lot, lot, lot deeper than just that.
