479 HxC (Through The Night) Lyrics

SO I'LL TAKE MY chances on the road againSO I'LL TAKE MY chances on the road again
So sick and tired of this fighting
We haven't left camp yet
And wars have broken out on all sides
Whatever happened to loyalty getting the upper hand on jealousy
Take the stand it's gonna take to change the tide

And as a we drive through the night, we'll be thinking of you
We'll be thinking of you
And as a we drive through the night, we'll be thinking of you
We'll be thinking of you

Well I wish that these feet would grow roots
Become a part of this ground
So I'd have to somewhere to belong
And as the sun rises above the battlefied where brothers fell
I promise it won't end for me that way

And as a we drive through the night, we'll be thinking of you
We'll be thinking of you
And as a we drive through the night, we'll be thinking of you
We'll be thinking of you

And each other is all that we have left
They can't take that away
They can't take that away
And each other is all that we have left

And as a we drive through the night, we'll be thinking of you
We'll be thinking of you
And as a we drive through the night, we'll be thinking of you
We'll be thinking of you

SO I'LL TAKE MY chances on the road again
SO I'LL TAKE MY chances on the road again
SO I'LL TAKE MY chances on the road again
SO I'LL TAKE MY chances on the road again

What I'm getting from this is that he's talking to someone(probably a loved one) about being on the road, touring with bandmates.

"So I'll take my chances on the road again" - He's saying that he thinks it's worth it, through all the fighting and bickering.

Most of the first verse is pretty apaprent. When he says "Take the stand it's gonna take to change the tide" probably meaning he's going to stand up and do what should've been done all along.

The chorus.. I THINK he means that as they're driving, they're thinking of their families. Who he's singing to?

Second verse: As most musicians on the road, he's talking about how he just wants to settle down. And by "I promise it won't end that way for me" he means he doesn't want to end up a broken band like most of the other bands on the road.

Hahaha, I may be wayyy off. But this was my first impression of what the song meant.
