Blossom Lyrics
Without anyone to love you
What will you blossom into?
Without anyone to hold you
How will you grow?
And in the Wildwood trees
The wild wind blows
And the nighttime crushes the hurricane rose
And with no one to care for you
Who knows
Blossom for me rose
You're the picture of my love
Blossom for me rose
Stretch out underneath the stars
And when tomorrow comes
I will hold you up
Little blossom, shining in the sun
Without any place to go to
How will your soul return to
Without anyone to keep you
Where will you go
And in the shadows of the past
Where you're spinning so fast
It's hard to see it coming
And it never lasts
And with nothing to judge your life by
How will you know
Blossom for me rose
You're the picture of my life
Blossom for me rose
Stretch out underneath the stars
And when tomorrow comes
I will hold you up
Little blossom, shining in the sun
Without anyone to love you
What will you blossom into
Without anyone to hold you
How will you grow
What will you blossom into?
Without anyone to hold you
How will you grow?
The wild wind blows
And the nighttime crushes the hurricane rose
And with no one to care for you
Who knows
You're the picture of my love
Blossom for me rose
Stretch out underneath the stars
And when tomorrow comes
I will hold you up
Little blossom, shining in the sun
How will your soul return to
Without anyone to keep you
Where will you go
Where you're spinning so fast
It's hard to see it coming
And it never lasts
And with nothing to judge your life by
How will you know
You're the picture of my life
Blossom for me rose
Stretch out underneath the stars
And when tomorrow comes
I will hold you up
Little blossom, shining in the sun
What will you blossom into
Without anyone to hold you
How will you grow

i just played this song for my sister for the first time last night. I told her it was kind of sad. The first two lines especially. Good song for a sad, rainy day.
hits home of a friend i care a whole lot about, but they cant feel it, or anything for that matter, as they feel they are alone and have nothing they have nothing to become
i love this song, so beautiful as most of Ryan's stuff is.
"I've got this one spirit that's laying roses on me. Roses, roses, can't get enough of those bloody roses. The rose is the most prominent image in the human brain, as to delicacy, beauty, short-livedness, thorniness. It's a whole. There is no better allegory for, dare I say it, life, than roses." - Robert Hunter
this is another sweet one off of Cold Roses. the whole album is more or less a tribute to the musical genius of the grateful dead, and seeing as robert hunter's most common muse was the rose it's only logical that ryan adams would do the same in the tribute.
roses are beautiful but when you grow flowers you need to tend them otherwise they'll get raggedy unkempt. people are like that, too - most things are like that.
I think it’s about how kids can be nurtured into happy people if they have people who love them. Without it, you would lead a troubled life.
