Ah ah
I'll wait here, you're crazy
Those vicious streets are filled with strays
You should have never gone to Hollywood

They find you to time you
Say you're the best they've ever seen
You should have never trusted Hollywood

I wrote you and told you
You were the biggest fish out here
You should have never gone to Hollywood

They take you and make you
They look at you in disgusting ways
You should have never trusted Hollywood

(Ah ah)

I was standing on the wall feeling ten feet tall
All you maggots smoking fags on Santa Monica Boulevard

This is my front page. This is my new rage
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care

(Ah ah)

All you maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care

(Ah ah)

Phony people come to pay
Look at all of them, back to stay
Phony people come to pray

(The lines in the letter said)
Look at all of them, back to stay
(We had gone to reckon send)
Phony people come to pray

(Ah ah)
All you maggots smoking fags on Santa Monica Boulevard

(Ah ah)
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard

(Ah ah)
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Hollywood Boulevard

(Ah ah)
You should have never trusted Hollywood
You should have never gone to Hollywood

(Ah ah)
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care

You should have never trusted Hollywood

I May be wrong, but I listened to this while reading 'Catcher in the Rye'and realized that a lot of things seem to coincide with Holden's view of things. For example, «Phony people come to pray» Dunno whats with the «pray» part, but PHONY PEOPLE, i mean anyone who's read the 2 1st pages of catcher in the rye probably knows that the main character is constantly labeling people as phony, and that he finds hollywood to be the most phony place in the world full of phony people and people who prostitute themselves to make money. Just a thought...

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
