Static in the Cities Lyrics
In sts'ikel the earth came rain down on us
Let the fires burn till the cities fall
Go be with your family and friends
Hand in hand when it all ends
Make your peace with everyone you know
Forget it all, just let it go
These ain't the last days at all
But I'm trying to send out a call
Everyone together can save the world when it falls
I don't even remember how it was
Before everything was lost
I try to think of how it used to be
But this world has stole my memory
These ain't the last days at all
But I'm trying to send out a call
Everyone together can save the world when it falls
These ain't the last days at all
But I'm trying to send out a call
Everyone together can save the world when it falls
Everything is set
Everything we never wanted to be
There is no one left to blame the loss
Let the fires burn till the cities fall
Go be with your family and friends
Hand in hand when it all ends
Make your peace with everyone you know
Forget it all, just let it go
But I'm trying to send out a call
Everyone together can save the world when it falls
Before everything was lost
I try to think of how it used to be
But this world has stole my memory
But I'm trying to send out a call
Everyone together can save the world when it falls
But I'm trying to send out a call
Everyone together can save the world when it falls
Everything we never wanted to be
There is no one left to blame the loss

This contrasts with other 'States songs - it's not so much rousing as warning. The first chorus is in fact kind of intimidating and Armageddonish, but focuses on human relations, which are of course the backbone of any city. Myabe it's a redefining song, politically?
