Are you kidding me?! First post! How long has this been up? This song absolutely blew me away! I was sitting in the dark just downloading music off of Limwire and I listened to this song and it...was...incredible! It's so powerful and emotional. Maybe it was just the mood I was in, but it's an awesome song. It's even me and my girlfriend's song now. It's meaning is very obvious. It basically just says that the singer just wants to love and be there for the girl he cares for, even just to see her "smiling" or "laughing." If you like this song, listen to "A Lifetime" "Closer" and "Desperately Wanting" by these guys. They will also blow you away.
I just started listening to BTE's latest album and found myself loving this song. For me, this song represents what a truly loving relationship should be about...loving each other for who we are and not passing judgement.
I love love love this song!!! its one of the ones that really stands out in Before the Robots..BTE ROCKS!!! to me this song is about just coming off a breakup or problems with life in general...and no matter what you will always have that loved one (whether it be a friend, bf, or family member) who will be there by your side. No matter what happens, what you've done or what you've been through, they won't judge you, just be there for you. its just about having that one person to lean on through the hard times....i love this song!!!!!!!

basically, this song means the world to me. it's like saying 'i know you're scared, i know times are tough. but i'm here. always' and it's like 'no matter what you go through... you'll be happy again sometime'.

Are you all kidding? really. Its all there in the lyrics. Thissong is as simple as its words. Its about someone who has been at war. i.e., IRAQ. This person has been through so much death and destruction, sadness, and irreparable damage. The person waiting at home is saying" I don't care what happened to you over there. You're here now- thats all that matters now." With all the angiush and pain this person went through, they need to know that there is someone waiting at home that can make it better- that can get them back to experiencing what compassion feels like. Thats what its about. put yourself in those shoes...you'll see.

This song ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!!! It is about the ultimate love. I don't think that it is literally referring to a war, although it would certainly fit. I think it means the wars of life. There are many things that can destroy someone and cause tremendous pain...

The person in the song is telling someone else that he/she will always be there for him/her. It can be taken in a romantic or platonic context, but I lean slightly towards the romantic side. It's a beautiful song, and well worth listening to.
I just heard Taylor Swift play a cover of this song. It's a shame it could not have been more popular for BTE, I've already had to correct people that no, Taylor Swift dis not write this beautiful love song, but it was actually Better Than Ezra. People are surprised when they hear that. Anyways, this is one of my top 10 songs that I love and I never get tired of listening to it!
