Get Big Lyrics

Once we get to the end of this song,
then it wil begin again.

So you said,
in our bed.
I was watching light ship
through blinds to find your skin.

So take your medicine
and I won't ask where you've been.
Live your lost weekend.
I know you've wanted it.
Get big, little kid.

And I can't say why each day
doesn't quite fit the space
we saved for it.
But if that space now demands
that you throw up both your hands,
that you call it quits...

Take your midnight trip
I know you've dreamed of it.
Walk your sunset strip,
because I think you've needed it
to get big, little kid.

But just remember that our love
only got this good
because of those younger days
that'd you like to outstrip.
So drink your cup down
to the dregs and leave
that club shaking legs
with another guy,
but just remember: I'm not him.

Take your medicine and I won't ask
where you've been.
Live your lost weekend,
because I know you've wanted it
to get big, little kid.

And once we get to the end of this song,
then another will begin.

oh goddamn this song is amazing...i think its about a couple who are at the time to "commit" officially...he/she likes to go out still...they might think its kind of a last hooraaah...but i may be completely off. cha cha ciaao.

At a concert, Will asked us to look at the person beside us and imagine that we were totally and completely in love with them--but they'd been unfaithful--and imagine how we're in love with them yet hurt and betrayed to the point of hating them.

And I can't say why each day doesn't quite fit the space we saved for it. But if that space now demands that you throw up both your hands, that you call it quits...

The only time I've ever truly forgot to breath. So beautiful it truly took my breath away.

I think it is about him loving this girl, but needs to let her go to let her grow.

"And I can't say why each day doesn't quite fit the space we saved for it."

she is drifting away and they arent spending the time together they/he hoped they would because she is too busy partying and doing whatever

"So drink your cup down to the dregs and leave that club shaking legs with another guy, but just remember: I'm not him."

i think this one is about his woman, probably younger and less experienced, needing to go out and do stupid stuff, like get her kicks in LA (sunset strip), go get wasted and party, etc. They were younger (the days you'd like to outstrip) when they got together, maybe, and he had seen some stuff and she had not, and now the glitz of the rock n roll world is calling to her and she has to go find out for herself what that is all about.... even though its not really all its cracked up to be. The singer knows that, he's already had that experience, yet he gets that this is what she needs to do to grow up and there is nothing he can do about it. i can see how her cheating on him would totally fit into that scenario as well. just my interpretation. :)

electric_warrior pretty much summed it up for me. I get the feeling that the narrator is hating the current situation, but trying to deal with it best as possible, maybe holding on in wait for better things to come. "Another song will begin again". Beautiful. And this song is followed by A King and A Queen, perfect.

i always thought the girl was meant to have bipolar...

I love the "ooh ooh ooooh" right after the line "just remember I'm not him". It's actually eargasmic. So is the lady singer's voice. Anyone know her name?

This song is all about growing up in the sense that you find what is truly good in life. The girl's husband/boyfriend thinks that the only way for her to realize that true love and commitment is what she is needs to be happy is for her to go out at night and live a rock star's life or a strippers life etc. Then when she finds that doesnt make her happy she will come back to him, but it deeply saddens him that she has to go through that process to figure things out. I think that any college kid or spouse that is trying to fill their void by going out and drinking, partying, and being promiscuous should honestly look at themselves and ask if they are truly happy or if this is just a cover up or another road they travel before they find the love that will set them free. The love from God and the love you give yourself. Love yourself, God loves us. I love this song as well
