Hey Scenesters Lyrics
Hey, scenesters!
Hey! Hey scenesters!
Hey, scenesters!
Hey! Hey scenesters!
Hey, scenesters!
Hey! Hey scenesters!
You lot are in trouble now!
(Someone’s gonna cop it now)
Soemone’s gonna cop it now.
Hey, Darlin!
Hey! Hey, Darlin!
Hey, Darlin!
Hey! Hey, Darlin!
Hey, Darlin!
Hey! Hey, Darlin!
Everybody’s happy now!
(Nobody ain’t laughin now)
Nobody ain’t laughin now.
She was the glamorous type,
There were times when you’d never’ve guessed it.
Did you see her clothes?
Everyone said she looked like a mess, yeah.
Okay, alright…
(You think you’re a leader)
About last night…
(But we won’t ever believe ya)
I was feeling strange,
(One last fling)
Slighty ashamed.
(We're nothing is alright, we’re leaving)
Casual looks…
(When we were steamin)
Said enough,
(We're nothing is alright, we’re leaving)
It’s different scenes,
It’s different scenes.
Hey, scenesters!
Hey! Hey, scenesters!

great song! why has no one commented?!
beats me! fucking amazing dude
Love the cribs, and this song. I'm guessing it's about scene kids.
I think that this song is about phonies, posers and other people who pretend to be something they are not to fit in and to feel cool.
There is a small discrepancy between the lyrics listed here and on other sites. The line "Someone’s gonna cop it now" in other listings says "Someone’s gonne and copied now" which makes more sense if like I said above this song is in fact about phony people. Maybe someone who owns the original CD could check the lyrics and tell which version is correct.
So I think that scenesters refers to those phonies who go places just to see and to be seen and who only do things because other scenesters are also doing them. This explains the line "Someone’s gonne and copied now" since this sort of people only copy each other, and it aslo explains the lines from the fourth paragraph of the song "Everybody’s happy now! (Nobody ain’t laughin now)". That is, everyone is the same, either colectively mindlessly laughing or serious.
I think that the next two paragraphs are a conversation between two Scenesters (phonies) trashing a girl because she looks diferent and doesn't fit in to the cool group of people but half way through the conversation one of them changes his mind and sees what rediculous lives the cool scenesters really have, he sees that he is a fake nobody and feels ashamed of been that way.
The last paragraph I think that the scenesters are putting peer preassure on the guy that was having second thoughts about doing things just because others are doing them too and telling him to go on been like them and not to let them down.
corning1111 - i think you're right there and it is "someone's gone a copied now"
oops "a" meant to be "and"
Yeah this song is truly great, I really wanna see The Cribs live! I'm sure they'd be pretty damn cool.
Anyway, I think this song is just generally about young people nowadays and how some of them pretend to be something they're not - and wear clothes, listen to music and just base their whole fucking lives around what is said to be cool. It's a great song and I like the whole meaning of it, as it really does my head in the way a lot of people I know have just completely changed their whole style just to fit in.
Me
I own this CD, and the lyrics here are correct. It is "someone's gonna COP IT now", not "copied".
I think it has something to do with people trying to say that they're confident and "a leader", but they can't pull it off, hence "but we'll never believe ya".
About "Myspace" people, i think it might be
