I Believe Lyrics

I've been out walking, For hours
I got something on my mind
How did we get here? Where are we going?
Why is life so hard

I read the stories, See the photographs
World's a crazy space
Got to hold on to my dreams
There's just no other place
There's just no other place

I believe
We can change anything
I believe
We can rise above it
I believe
There's a reason for everything
I believe
In my dream

I've seen the shadows, Of the living
I've seen them turn and walk away
And I keep searching, For the right words
To send these thoughts away

There's a picture, I like to look at
A picture of a beautiful face
And I see something, In her eyes
Sends me to a better place
Sends me to a better place

I believe
We can change anything
I believe
We can rise above it
I believe
There's a reason for everything
I believe
In my dream
I believe
We can change anything
I believe
In my dream

Wow! I can't believe that no one has written anything for this song yet. I think that Joe Satriani is probably the most talented guitarist ever and while he doesn't have the greatest voice and isn't a great lyracist; i think this song has really beautiful lyrics. To me the song is about the narrator looking at the evils of the world but with optimism that together we can make it a better place.

there's nothing wrong with not knowing who joe satriani is... There's also nothing wrong with liking linkin park or limp bizkit... Just cos joe satriani is one of the greatest solo guitarist in the world doesn't mean everyone must listen to him, it just means that those who do have a more defined (not better) taste in music... Personally i love Joe satriani, dick dale, frank zappa and hendrix and this song is sort of an anthem for the people who care...

Well said. I very much agree. Thank you for not being an elitist, and recognising that musical preference is a subjective issue (it's a bit weird that there are people who don't recognise that, but that's how it is unfortunately).

actually i havent listened to this song for ages, i got a bit over shredding guitar. But still the song is really touching sort of about his own difficulties and the worlds difficulties but pulls through to some hope and happiness

" I've been out walking, For hours I got something on my mind How did we get here? Where are we going? Why is life so hard"

i think about this stuff all the time, because these questions have no definite answers at all. Sure we can guess, but there's no way of knowing how right we are.

I think Joe's saying he believes we can control the future, no matter how weird or impossible that sounds. If we are passionate and strong enough, we can mold and create to our desire. But if we don't make any attempt, the future just might control us.

Personally, I dont think the lyrics to this song are that great, but the melody and the tone certainly makes up for it. Despite the lyrics being a little cliche, this is one of Satriani's best songs, in my opinion.

And Im sure everyone can tell what it's about, as some have already stated it here. People like tommy, cheesemaestro, and Zs and Ys got it right.

This is actually one of my least favorite Satriani songs. The lyrics are just way to cheesy for me, and I don't think his singing voice is that great. To me, he's at his best when he uses his guitar as his voice.

My Opinion

Joe Satriani is definitely(not probably) the most talented guitarist ever! but no fucking moron knows that! they've just learned to listen to limp bizkit, linkin park and other crap bands!

It's subjective, so it doesn't make sense to say "definitely". Also, lot's of people know of Satriani and have very high opinions of him; he's actually quite famous. I can understand why you'd want him to be more famous, but he's certainly not unknown. And it isn't as if everyone in the world apart from you listens to just crap bands, and to be honest I doubt you've done enough research into even just those two bands to write them off as crap. For example, the song 'In Between' by Linkin Park is actually lyrically excellent (in my opinion) and...
